Sonoma Verde on Video

Take a look around the neighborhood before you visit in person.

A Community Built Around More Than Just a House

Sonoma Verde has been taking shape along Highway 205 South in McLendon-Chisholm since 2014, growing steadily into one of Rockwall County's most established master-planned communities. With four active builders offering a wide range of square footage and price points, it accommodates a broad spectrum of buyers looking for new construction in a community that already feels complete.

The traditional architectural character of the neighborhood, brick and stone exteriors with pitched rooflines, gives Sonoma Verde a grounded, established feel. It sits far enough from the urban core to feel removed from city noise, yet the drive to Rockwall's retail corridors and the Dallas metro is straightforward via I-30.

A new phase is currently underway at Sonoma Verde. As part of that expansion, Del Webb is planned to develop a dedicated section as a 55+ Active Adult Community, separate from the broader Sonoma Verde community. Contact us for more details on this exciting addition.

Sonoma Verde is large enough that residents who enjoy walking can get their steps in without repeating the same stretch twice. The walking paths wind through different sections of the community, and there's even a portion where the path passes through a canopy of trees, a nice little find tucked into the neighborhood.

What Life Looks Like Inside Sonoma Verde

The amenity package at Sonoma Verde is designed for active, outdoor-oriented daily life. The community pool, with its separate kiddie pool, gives residents a gathering point on warm Texas evenings. The sand volleyball court, basketball court, and tennis court offer structured recreation without leaving the neighborhood. The soccer fields provide open green space for organized games and informal play alike.

The walking paths are more than sidewalk connectivity. Portions wind through different sections of the community, giving residents enough distance to get a real walk in. One stretch passes beneath a natural tree canopy, a quiet contrast to the open Texas sky that defines much of the surrounding landscape, and a nice detail for those who use the paths regularly.

The fenced dog park and the small picnic area adjacent to the neighborhood park round out the amenity picture. The catch-and-release pond adds a quiet, passive amenity, a place to sit, fish, and decompress without leaving home.

For daily errands and dining, the closest options are just down Highway 205. A short drive to Heath opens up a more complete dining and retail experience, and the major retail corridor along E. Ralph Hall Parkway is approximately 6.2 miles away. See the Shopping & Dining section for full details.
